Overview

Wilmer Baptist Church, located in Wilmer, Alabama, is a Southern Baptist congregation with nearly 125 years of faithful ministry. We are a long-standing member of the Southern Baptist Convention and strongly uphold the Baptist Faith and Message (2000).

Our church averages approximately 500 people in Sunday morning worship attendance, is blessed with an age-diverse congregation, a collaborative and Spirit-filled staff, and strong ministries focused on discipleship, evangelism, and community engagement—including a thriving sports ministry, Wilmer Sports, that provides significant outreach opportunities. We have been served by two pastors over the past 55 years, and we are currently guided by a transitional pastor as we prepare for the next season of ministry.

We seek a Lead Pastor who values collaboration, accepts our church’s belief and adherence to congregational polity, and is committed to equipping leaders and advancing the Great Commission through worship, evangelism, discipleship, ministry, and fellowship. The ideal candidate will be Biblically grounded, a devoted student and teacher of God’s Word, and able to preach and teach with clarity, conviction, humility, and integrity.

The Lead Pastor will shepherd the congregation in a Christ-centered, Scripture-based ministry and provide spiritual leadership during a transitional period while preparing for the next season of ministry.
