The ideal candidate for Area Manager of Secondary Steel Processing will lead Operations for the Ladle Refining and Refractory Teams. This position manages the daily operations, coordinating teams, ensuring safety and quality requirements are met and overseeing the secondary steelmaking processes, to meet the business goals of Arcelor Mittal Calvert.

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field
• At least 10 years of leadership experience in operations position in steelmaking
• Experience with improvement projects that increased reliability, throughput, yield or generated cost savings
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
• Advanced decision-making and problem-solving skills;
  Analytical skills, with ability to collect, distill, and analyze data
• Technical proficiency with Steelmaking operations and Ladle Metallurgy

• Experience in Refractory Systems
• Technical knowledge of Vacuum Degassing

• Looking ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies
• Anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders
• Developing people to meet both their career goals and the organization’s goals
• Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances

• Accountable for achieving Key Performance Indicators established in the business plan (safety, reliability, throughput, quality, cost)
• Accountable for supporting the development, implementation, and adherence to the Equipment Maintenance Program
• Adherence to Operating budget
• Benchmark performance against similar facilities to identify improvement opportunities
