Mobile Equipment Operator

Gadsden, AL location:
Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa Subsidiary, is hiring for a mobile equipment operator for our plant located in Gadsden, AL. As a mobile equipment operator, you will perform activities related to processing, receiving, recording, storing, and/or shipping raw materials/finished goods. You will operate mobile equipment (heavy equipment, forklift, cranes, yard vehicle, lift truck) to move materials/products between warehouse/manufacturing facilities.

• Operate a lift truck to move palletized loads from 6,000–15,000 pounds.
• Operate an overhead crane on a production line.
• May operate mobile crane (move across yard).
• May operate scissor lift.
• Ensure proper identification of parts and materials.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience operating large forklifts or yard trucks.
• Previous experience with shipping and receiving is required.
• Previous experience with bills of lading is a plus.
• The ability to operate a lift truck to move palletized loads up to 15,000 pounds.
• The ability to perform activities related to processing, receiving, recording, and/or shipping raw materials/finished goods.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• The ability to work required overtime during the week or on weekends.
• The ability to maintain good attendance.
