Temporary Residential Life Coordinator - EMERGENCY NOTICE
The Residential Life Coordinator works to develop an atmosphere conducive to the academic and personal growth and development of residential students. The Residential Life Coordinator accomplishes these goals by efficiently managing the residential facility, providing a variety of personal assistance and support to residents, and by maintaining a living environment that attends to the needs of the residents.
Salary
:
Appropriate placement on ACCS Salary Schedule (Download PDF reader) E1, grade 02, $50,680 - $68,169. (Salary within this range is determined by your documented years of full-time related work experience). Room and Board included in the employment package.
Work Hours
:
Full-time, 40-hour-per-week role with a flexible schedule. The preferred workdays are Tuesday through Saturday; however, the final schedule may be adjusted in collaboration with the supervisor to best support Resident Assistant (RA) responsibilities and maintenance operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assume overall responsibility for the direction and operation of the residential facility.
- Enforce rules and regulations governing student housing, including safety rules, and report any disciplinary incidents to the appropriate administrator.
- Foster a friendly, safe, and clean environment that encourages student development.
- Reside in the resident hall.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks and room inspections.
- Maintain a cooperative relationship with campus police, residence hall security, local fire departments, and police agencies.
- Oversee regular residence hall fire and safety drills as required by college, state, and federal policies.
- Regularly participate in campus events including speaker events and late night and weekend events.
- Coordinate move‑in and check‑out process each semester. Inspect rooms for damage after move‑out.
- Effectively collaborate with the office of the Executive Director of Facilities for the upkeep of the building through maintenance repairs and custodial needs and ensure their completion in a timely manner.
- Develop a residential life guide that supports student development and success in the residence hall.
- Manage residential life budget.
- Work collaboratively with Student Engagement to develop and promote co‑curricular activities to better link the student educational experience with other interests which include campus/community involvement.
- Make security rounds at the end of every shift.
- Provide appropriate response to student concerns and behaviors including crisis situations, behavioral concerns and student conflicts including referrals for college disciplinary matters.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all keys, equipment, supplies, and furniture within the residence hall.
- Maintain files for each resident to include telephone number, email address, and emergency contact information.
- Supervise, train, and coordinate the work of Resident Assistants.
- Assist with housekeeping in common areas.
- Assist with housing office duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of an associate degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
- Experience in working and communicating with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds including students, parents, college employees and the public is required.
- Experience in working with high school or college students is required.
- Highly motivated, energetic and ready to assume the responsibility of a college residence life.
- Able to promote and motivate high enthusiasm for the residence life program.
- Ability to promote the relationship between the academic and residence life programs at a college.
- Experience in a community college setting.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to be insured.
