Position: Title   HSE Manager
Location: McCalla

Overview

Our HSE Manager leads a team, inspects work areas, products, and associate work habits to ensure compliance with GHSI, OSHA rules, safety and environmental guidelines, and makes changes to improve workplace safety when necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Designs and implements safety programs, including developing safety methods, procedures, and policies based on company guidelines. Monitors STOP program and company metrics analysis and improvement system.
  • Monitors the workplace daily to ensure all activity meets safety compliance.
  • Performs job analyses and measures and evaluates the effectiveness of safety policies, and makes needed modifications.
  • Responds to on-site emergencies and accidents, facilitates the emergency response Team (ERT), safety team, and environmental team.
  • Manages workers’ compensation recordkeeping and responds to employee accidents with treatment, follow-up, and internal reporting.
  • Identifies environmental, health, and safety hazards. Identifies hazards or faults that caused the accident and devises a strategic plan to remedy those problems.
  • Initiates, performs, and oversees training and documentation related to operations, safety, environmental and quality.
  • Stays up to date on state and federal workplace safety regulations.
  • Runs informational meetings for employees regarding proper environmental, health, and safety procedures.
  • Fields inquiries from employees about proper safety procedures.
  • Investigates on-the-job accidents and documents reports and investigations.
  • Recruits, hires, and trains new safety associates to assist in audits and other oversight.
  • Overall responsibility for reporting, measuring and improving the GHSI of the facility.
  • Performs other assigned duties as necessary.
Education and Experience

Bachelor degree (preferred), but any combination of degree and 2 – 5 years’ experience.

Manufacturing Experience and Industry Preference

Manufacturing Experience - Automotive Preferred

Coursework and training in occupational safety requirements and OHSA guidelines is required.
