Joe Wheeler EMC, located in North Alabama, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Information Technology (IT) Systems Administrator.

The Information Technology (IT) Systems Administrator maintains and supports all IT functions at Joe Wheeler EMC (Cooperative). This role ensures that IT infrastructure, business systems, and communications networks support the Cooperative’s mission of providing safe, reliable, and affordable electric and broadband services to members. This role also supports Cooperative employees, contractors, and vendors in all applicable technology functions.

• Maintain essential IT infrastructure, systems, applications and communication networks to ensure availability and integrity.
• Apply foundational Cybersecurity principles in all facets of IT functionality.
• Communicate and collaborate with others to foster an environment of learning and innovation.
• Assist leadership in efforts to align IT initiatives with enterprise priorities, regulatory requirements, and member needs.

• College degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field is preferred.
• Minimum of five years’ progressively responsible IT experience as well as database management, networking, systems operations, troubleshooting and use of system utilities.
• Desired certifications include CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, Microsoft Certified (Axure, Server, or 365 technologies), Cisco CCNA/CCNP, VMware VCP, or other related vendor specific certifications.
• Background in WAN technologies such as microwave and leased-line communications systems.
• Background in Microsoft Windows, Apple, Linux/Unix, and embedded operating systems.
• Background in Identity and Systems Management platforms such as Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, Cisco Duo, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms.

• Salary range: $80,000 per year to $100,000 per year; salary negotiable based on experience
