Compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor Needed!

The Substance Abuse Counselor will assist patients through medically‑assisted treatments and offer techniques for handling opioid addiction. The counselor conducts individual and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies. The counselor evaluates patients’ progress during counseling and collaborates with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to assist patients in achieving overall outcomes.

• Complete bio‑psychosocial assessment
• Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment
• Ensure accurate and current clinical records are maintained in accordance with federal and state regulations governing NTP clinics
• Facilitate, establish, and review treatment plans with each patient
• Identify other physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs for assigned patients
• Provide treatment and casework services to patients as directed by the supervisor in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Bay Mark’s policies and procedures
• Provide timely documentation of patient services based on plan of care
• Develop recovery/treatment and discharge plans
• Perform other related duties as determined by supervisor

• Must have a bachelor’s degree with an LBSW or ADC certification, or master’s degree and be willing to obtain certification/license within 30 months of hire
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals
• Demonstrate a positive, non‑judgmental, acceptance attitude toward the patient population
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen
