Summary
About the Position: This position serves as a Logistics Management Specialist for the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command. The Army's Face to the World, the one-stop focal point for Army FMS, and the international partner of choice in U.S. Security Assistance.
Duties
Help
- Develop and execute the purchase, transfer and/or lease of defense articles and services for partner nations.
- Analyze, control, record, resolves and report all logistical, financial and operational actions related to case management.
- Participate in management reviews for designated countries and develops recommended actions based upon individual country needs.
- Maintain liaison with foreign government representatives and key personnel within the Security Assistance Enterprise.

Conditions of employment
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- The position requires DoD SC Workforce (SCW) Certification. The incumbent must complete certification-related training requirements in the SC Area of Concentration (AoC) within the timeframe associated with the position's SCW certification level.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Complete appropriate Civilian Education System (CES) training within twelve months of assignment.

Specialized Experience GS-09:
One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative and logistical status reports on procurement actions; extracting data from supporting logistical and financial databases to determine cause of problems; and researching applicable regulations pertaining to foreign military sales (FMS) case management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as Business Administration, International Studies, Supply Management, or Logistics.
OR
Combination of
Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18.
