Location: Fort Novosel
Duties
* Exercise exclusive law enforcement jurisdiction responsible for the, apprehension or detention of persons suspected or convicted of offenses against the criminal laws of the United States.
* Serve as a police patrol officer enforcing Federal criminal laws and the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) involving persons and property.
* Protect government property, materials and facilities against trespass, theft, fire, damage and espionage.
* Detain or arrest suspected or guilty persons.
* Collect and protect evidence, witnesses, victims, etc.
* Arrest persons committing or suspected of committing crimes on the installation.
* Patrol assigned area by vehicle or on foot to preserve the peace, prevent crime, and protect lives and property. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
* This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter.
* The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
* This position has been designated Mission Essential.
* This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
* This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
* This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training.
* Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
* The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
* This position requires the incumbent to be proficient in the use of assigned firearms.
* Incumbent is required to maintain physical conditioning and pass an annual Physical Agility Test (PAT) as outlined in AR 190-56 within 30 days of employment and annually thereafter.
* This position requires the incumbent to wear a uniform and /or protective clothing and equipment.
* This position requires certification in the Individual Reliability Program (IRP) in accordance with AR 190-56.
* This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete the US Army Civilian Police Academy program within 12 months of hire/ or is a current employee and is considered grandfathered IAW AR 190-56/or have a current approved waiver from (OPMG).
* Incumbent must be able to successfully pass the National Incident Management System (NIMS) training requirements.
* Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime. Qualifications
