Role Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will provide hands-on technical leadership across Thermal Protection System (TPS) application, electromechanical structure assembly, and Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) operations. You will help ensure production meets engineering, schedule, safety, and cost goals, while supporting build processes and delivering high-quality hardware. This role requires second-shift work and may include occasional travel to support other manufacturing sites.

Duties & Responsibilities
You will:
• Lead daily technical activities to meet engineering, schedule, cost, and quality commitments.
• Provide shop-floor support for assembly, manufacturing, and AI&T operations.
• Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing plans, build processes, tooling requirements, and configuration changes.
• Create procedures, work instructions, SOPs, and tooling/fixture concepts that support product performance and manufacturability.
• Adapt equipment, tools, and processes to meet factory conditions and evolving program needs.
• Incorporate inspection, test, and quality requirements into production planning.
• Partner with Engineering to clarify design intent, optimize manufacturability, and provide producibility feedback.
• Solve technical problems of moderate complexity and communicate solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Provide production status and updates to leadership.
• Travel occasionally to support manufacturing operations at other sites. Work Environment
• Shift: Thursday-Sunday, 4:00 PM-2:30 AM CST (Second Shift).
• Setting:
Hands-on advanced manufacturing environment including electromechanical assembly, test, and integration areas.

Collaboration:
Daily interaction with engineers, technicians, and leadership.
• Travel:
Occasional travel to other Lockheed Martin sites to support manufacturing operations.

Basic Qualifications:
Candidates must meet all requirements:
• Previous manufacturing experience (internship, course-based, or professional).
• Experience working with or collaborating across multi-functional teams.
• Ability to work second shift:
Thursday-Sunday, 4:00 PM-2:30 AM CST.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Desired
Skills:
"Nice-to-have" skills that strengthen candidacy:
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving production flow issues.
• Basic tooling, fixture, or equipment design experience.
• Familiarity with Additive Manufacturing, CAD/CAM, and 3D printing.
• Experience presenting technical information to senior leaders or government customers.
• Familiarity with manufacturing systems and documentation (EVM, SAP/ERP, EPDM, BOMs, work instructions, routings, production orders, Qnotes, FMEAs).
• Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
• Experience with ESD-sensitive operations or ordnance/missile AI&T work.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities in aerospace or manufacturing environments.
• Strong communication skills across Program, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
• Experience authoring detailed manufacturing work instructions, SOPs, or technical publications.
• Ability to read/interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, specs, and bills of material.
Security Clearance Statement:
