Guided Search Partners (GSP)
Guided Search Partners is an Executive Search firm built on Trust, Transparency, Specialization, and Long-term Relationships.
We connect high-performing professionals with organizations that value people, performance, and growth—helping leaders find roles where they can make an impact and build meaningful careers.
We’re partnering with a high-volume manufacturing site supporting Tier 1 / Tier 2 interior automotive components for major OEM customers. The plant is sizable with injection molding and some assembly.
This is a newly created Tooling Supervisor (2nd Shift) role—built to strengthen tooling and processing support across shifts, especially during the overlap between first and third. The team is collaborative and transparent, and this position is a blank canvas: it’s best suited for someone who shares ideas, builds credibility quickly, and can make structure stick.
What You’ll Do- Lead tooling support on 2nd shift (3:00–11:00 pm with flexibility) while providing coverage and support across all shifts as needed.
- Oversee tool builds and engineering changes within the tool room and with outside vendors.
- Prioritize tool room work, maintain tooling standards, and support quoting for in-house tool room work.
- Build and maintain a tooling preventive maintenance program.
- Enforce safety expectations daily—coach PPE and safe work practices, ensure incidents are reported, and model safety as a core value.
- Support technicians with hands‑on troubleshooting and practical process/tooling guidance in an injection molding environment.
- A collaborative, hands‑on leader who can step into a new role and build momentum fast.
- Comfortable working the floor and supporting technicians—clear, direct, and steady under pressure.
- Process‑ and tooling‑minded, with the follow‑through to improve standards and prevent repeat issues.
- The type who enjoys owning outcomes on a shift and making the whole operation stronger.
- Tooling/processing experience in injection molding (Tier 1 automotive strongly preferred).
- 3–5+ years of supervisory experience.
- 2-year college degree in engineering (or similar) or equivalent experience.
- 7–10+ years in mechanical/process engineering and injection molding; 10+ years in automotive (as listed in the role requirements).
- Experience in production and tool build (Journeyman Toolmaker / apprenticeship background is a plus).
This role is the difference between reacting and staying ahead. You’ll help stabilize tooling performance, support technicians across shifts, and bring consistency to how tooling work gets prioritized, executed, and maintained—right when the plant needs stronger support and structure.
