What You’ll DoAs a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our production running smoothly while driving innovation. Our ideal candidate will be active on the shop floor. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate – Work closely with production, maintenance, and leadership teams to enhance operations and solve challenges together.
- Take Responsibility – Own the design, implementation, and optimization of mechanical systems that improve efficiency and reliability.
- Drive Growth – Identify and integrate new technologies, streamline processes, and develop solutions that support both personal and company growth.
- Designing & Implementing mechanical systems for veneer and plywood production
- Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving mechanical issues on the production floor
- Implementing Preventative Maintenance strategies to enhance reliability
- Ensuring Compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- At least 5 years Mechanical Engineering or related field experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience in industrial/manufacturing environments (wood products experience a plus!)
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, automation, and preventative maintenance
- Hands-on approach with a knack for troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Passion for continuous improvement and lean manufacturing
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy and consistency in all tasks
- Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues
