SUMMARYThe Experiential Learning Coordinator supports and implements Hale County Hospital’s expanding experiential learning programs under the direction of the Chief of Experiential Learning and Innovation.
This is a hands‑on, implementation‑focused role responsible for coordinating, teaching, and mentoring learners at multiple stages of education who are participating in hospital‑based experiential learning programs, including:
- Hale County Hospital Track Fellows from Project Horseshoe Farm
- Local high school students
- Medical, nursing, and allied health professions students
- Undergraduate and graduate students and interns
- Independent learners participating in hospital‑based and associated experiential learning opportunities
The Coordinator works closely with the Chief of Experiential Learning to operationalize program structures, strengthen day‑to‑day execution, and ensure alignment with hospital and partner educational priorities and standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinate, teach, and mentor in experiential learning programs serving high school students, college students, post‑baccalaureate learners, graduate students, health professions students, and Hospital Track Horseshoe Farm Fellows.
- Onboard students and introduce them to the hospital’s culture, clinical strengths, and community and relationship‑centered model of care.
- Provide teaching and mentorship related to human and relational dimensions of care, hospital and community health systems, and the Hospital’s broader community involvement and service.
- Manage student rotations, including scheduling, compliance, documentation, and coordination with hospital departments.
- Maintain consistent communication and administrative coordination with partner schools and affiliated institutions.
- Meet regularly with the Chief of Experiential Learning to review program performance, alignment with strategic direction, and alignment with operational priorities.
- Maintain and monitor affiliation agreements and institutional partnerships.
- Strong teaching, communication, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple programs and learners simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and operational management abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with hospital departments, educational institutions, and community partners.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Education, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Public Health, or related field preferred but not required.
- RN or LCSW licensure preferred but not required.
