Library Faculty PositionJacksonville State University’s Houston Cole Library invites applications for a tenure track position for Assistant Professor and Cataloging and Collection Development Librarian.
Responsibilities- Catalog materials as they are received, maintaining authority records and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Library’s catalog.
- Plan and implement policies and procedures addressing the needs of the Technical Services Department.
- Scan appropriate reviews and selection tools on an ongoing basis to identify potential additions to the collection.
- Regularly submit orders for materials to the Acquisitions Department.
- see collection management and development policies and processes, including subject assessments.
This nine-month, tenure track position offers an annual salary of $50,000.00
.
Candidates must possess a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program.
The preferred candidate will have previous experience in cataloging, RDA, and OCLC’s Connexion.
