Jacksonville State University’s Houston Cole Library invites applications for a tenure track position for Assistant Professor - Special Collections and Reference Librarian.
ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Professor and Special Collections and Reference Librarian in Library Services has primary responsibilities of evaluating library resources and planning and implementing library services addressing the information needs of the departments whose subjects are covered on the floor and the university community s position will also provide reference and research assistance in these subject areas as well as with special collections.
The Special Collections and Reference Librarian will assist with the soliciting and promoting of special collections.
This nine-month, tenure track position has an annual salary of $50,000.00.
Qualifications• Candidates must possess a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program.
• The preferred candidate will have an advanced degree or other post‑graduate / continuing education in subject specialty or closely related fields preferred (not a requirement for consideration) and previous experience in reference service and patron instruction.
