Pay Range: $15.00 – $26.25 per hour (Paraprofessional Salary Schedule)

• Helps the teacher create a warm and accepting community of learners and nurtures each child in the context of his/her family.
• Follows the teacher’s plans and supports the organization and implementation of activities using the Creative Curriculum Goals and Objectives, including:
  • Weekly Lesson Plans
  • Appropriate room arrangement (interest areas with challenging materials, children’s interests, activities at different learning levels, displaying art at eye level)
• Observes children’s progress, collects facts, analyzes and evaluates facts, and applies what is learned to plan for each child and the group.
• Helps the teacher track children’s progress using the Continuum and Individual Portfolios and shares that information regularly through home visits and parent‑teacher conferences.
• Follows the teacher’s guidance and support.
• Engages children in indoor and outdoor activities.
• Maintains safety for children indoors, outdoors, and on field trips.
• Distributes healthy snacks and meals in a positive family atmosphere.
• Is professional in appearance and upholds confidentiality standards in interactions with parents and staff.
• Maintains a pleasant demeanor, a positive attitude, willingness, teamwork, and flexibility to meet preschool programming needs.
• Attends weekly team and staff meetings.
• Takes classes and attends trainings to obtain and maintain at least a Level 2 credential in Colorado Shines PDIS.

• Legal age of 18.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Skills Competence (minimum 2 years of college coursework such as an associate’s degree or 48 semester hours) OR pass Work Keys paraprofessional assessments prior to hiring.
• Oral and written communication skills.
• English language skills; multilingual skills preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds.
• Current CPR and First‑Aid certifications.
• Growth mindset and willingness to take classes for professional development.
• Patient and positive with children.
