Duties DUTIES
* Servers as resident/online instructor in all areas of EPME including Air University academic disciplines of Leadership, Warfighting, International Security Studies, Profession of Arms and Communication Skills.
* Reviews core curriculum and makes recommendations of learning objectives, course content, methodology, textbook design, evaluation instruments, editing and production.
* Conducts research and maintains professional relationships.
* Major participant in instructor professional development.
* Functions as an EPME Student Evaluation Officer. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

* This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
* May be required to attend events after normal duty hours at both on-and off-base locations.
* Must have a valid driver's license
* The employee may be required to infrequently travel on military or commercial aircraft.
* Overtime may be required on an infrequent basis.
* A Master's Degree with 24 credit hours in the Education discipline to include:
Learning Psychology, Instructional Systems, Curriculum Development, Education Evaluation, and Computers in Education is highly desired.

* This position is limited to current permanent Dept of AF employees assigned to AETC. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1750, Instructional System Specialist Series. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Applicants must have a degree that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled. The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas:
* Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology:
Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material.
* Instructional design practices:
Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness.
* Educational evaluation:
Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments.
* Instructional product development:
Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training.
* Computers in education and training:
Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software. Some positions in this series may specialize in one or two functional areas, where more specific academic preparation may be necessary. For such positions, agencies may require course work in the applicable functional area(s) as part of the above-required 24 semester hours.

EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Serve as resident/online instructor in all areas of EPME including Air University academic disciplines of Leadership, Warfighting, International Security Studies, Profession of Arms and Communication Skills;
Author innovative input to the curriculum and review processes as well as the curriculum program plan; design assigned core course lesson plans for EPME; perform educational/experimental in-house research relating to educational technology, educational evaluation and all areas of the EPME curriculum; recommend and/or proposal on instructor training plans, in-service training and professional development; monitor test material to include standard and computer files.
