Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership to achieve the college vision, mission, and academic outcomes.
  • Manage administrative functions including staffing, budgeting, and facility oversight.
  • Advocate for faculty, staff, and students and represent the college in internal and external engagements.
  • Lead faculty recruitment, hiring, orientation, and retention initiatives.
  • Ensure fiscal stewardship and lead fundraising efforts in collaboration with University Development.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies such as AACSB, ATMAE, and ACEJMC.
  • Oversee program evaluation and continuous improvement of teaching, scholarly activity, and community engagement.
  • Participate in official university functions as directed by the president or provost.
Required Qualifications
  • A terminal degree in a discipline related to business or a closely related field.
  • Three to five years of experience as a senior academic administrator (e.g., dean, associate dean, department head).
  • Demonstrated faculty credentials sufficient for the rank of Professor at JSU, including a record of teaching, service, and scholarly publications.
  • Knowledge of university and college missions, goals, and policies; understanding of accreditation requirements; strong communication and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience administering an AACSB, ATMAE, or ACEJMC accredited academic program.
