Asphalt Plant Front End Loader Operator – Vance, AL

This is a skilled position that involves the safe and efficient operation of various types of construction equipment. Candidates must have at least two years of experience operating a loader on road construction projects, in a quarry, or an asphalt plant.

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain safe slopes on excavations and ensure proper barricading.
• Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Apply knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
• Keep time and material records.
• Know aggregate sizes and classifications.
• Understand weight requirements for loads leaving the pit.
• Travel from interstate highways to rural dirt roads at various locations.
• Lift up to 30 pounds and execute required physical tasks such as walking, stooping, squatting, sitting, and kneeling.
• Understand and apply basic math (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication).
• Read tape measures and perform basic measurements.
• Have knowledge of equipment and their uses.

• Minimum of two years of loader operation experience on road construction projects, in a quarry, or an asphalt plant.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong understanding of trenching and shoring standards.
• Physical capability to lift up to 30 pounds, and perform required movements such as walking, stooping, squatting, sitting, and kneeling.
• Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
• Knowledge of aggregate sizes, classifications, weight requirements, and equipment uses.
• Experience keeping accurate time and material records.
