Basic Job Functions

The Accounts Payable Clerk supports accounting operations by managing day‑to‑day accounts payable activities and collaborating with vendors and internal teams. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month‑end close processes while ensuring efficient and reliable payment operations.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain all facets of the accounts payable system.
  • Review and process vendor invoices.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments are made to vendors.
  • Work with vendors, requisitioners, and purchasers to resolve payment issues.
  • Assist accountants with month‑end close responsibilities.
  • Cross‑train with accounting department teammates to provide coverage and support.
  • Perform other clerical or administrative functions related to accounts payable, receivable, accounting, and human resources as needed.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Computer skills – Experience using Microsoft Excel and the MS Office Suite.
