The company manages complex greenfield and brownfield developments, providing exposure to multidisciplinary teams and challenging project environments.
Role OverviewThe Supplier QA/QC Engineer (E&I & Telecom) is responsible for managing QA/QC activities at vendor and manufacturer locations for electrical, instrumentation, and telecommunication systems. The role includes vendor inspections, document review, compliance checks, and supervision of QA/QC teams to ensure project quality requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities- Support vendors and contractors in finalising vendor document requirement listings (VDRL) and submission schedules in line with manufacturing, inspection, and testing programmes
- Review and approve QMS, engineering, and vendor quality documents; conduct Project Quality Health Checks, process and technical compliance verifications, and audits
- Identify and regularise deviations to project technical requirements and preferred manufacturers list
- Participate in criticality rating assessment workshops and define quality intervention levels and material certification requirements (BS EN 10204)
- Coordinate with discipline engineers on vendor quality document approvals and third-party inspector CVs for FAT/functional testing
- Ensure compliance with project supplier QA/QC requirements, including engagement of qualified personnel and calibrated inspection/test equipment at vendor/manufacturer sites
- Coordinate and attend pre-inspection meetings, vendor qualification audits, inspections, and weekly QA/QC meetings
- Review and monitor contractor and third-party inspection reports; identify non-conformances and direct corrective and preventive actions, escalating issues as required
- Initiate and follow up on NCRs, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and ensure timely close-out
- Review and monitor MRB, material test certificates, and inspection/test records for traceability and compliance
- Maintain systems and processes for tracking vendor QA/QC documentation, inspection notifications, reports, and manufacturing/test status
- Ensure timely submission and review of weekly and monthly supplier QA/QC status reports, and escalate vendor/manufacturer performance issues to functional supervision
- Monitor performance of contractors, third-party inspectors, engineers, and QA/QC personnel; provide guidance and reporting to functional supervision
- Comply with project safety requirements and ensure a strong safety culture
- Bachelor degree in Electrical or Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution
- IRCA Certified QMS Lead Auditor
- Professional memberships or certifications with recognised institutions (MCQI-CQP, ASQ-CMQ&OE) are desirable
- Extensive experience in supplier QA/QC for major process plants including refineries, LNG/NGL plants, petrochemical complexes, or similar
- Experience coordinating inspection/testing activities at vendor/manufacturer sites in oil and gas projects; GCC experience is desirable
- Strong working knowledge of QA/QC requirements for electrical, instrumentation, telecom, F&G systems, and associated materials
- Hands-on experience with preparation, review, and approval of procurement/vendor/manufacturer QA documentation including purchase specifications, ITRs, material review boards, inspection reports, welding/NDT/painting procedures, and FAT
- Familiarity with international codes and standards including IEC, IEEE, API, ISO, BS EN, IOGP, and equivalent
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams and communicate with vendors, contractors, third-party inspectors, and end users
