Role Overview

The Senior QA/QC Engineer will lead and manage the QA/QC function across multiple projects, ensuring quality management systems and standards are implemented effectively. This role involves oversight of QA/QC teams, supplier/vendor compliance, and site inspections, with responsibility for technical guidance, audits, and continual improvement of quality practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage multi-discipline QA/QC teams (QC engineers and inspectors) across projects
  • Ensure Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and procedures are in place and adhered to throughout project lifecycle
  • Guide project and departmental staff on ISO 9001 standards, QMS documentation, and certification requirements
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEC, UL, NFPA, ASME, ASTM, NACE, AWS, API, BS, ISO) and contractual requirements
  • Act as focal point for contractor, corporate, and external QMS audits; coordinate and participate in audits during project execution
  • Promote a culture of continual improvement and conduct quality training sessions for site personnel and subcontractors
  • Support incident investigations and root cause analysis related to quality failures impacting safety or performance
  • Prepare and manage departmental and project QMS documentation; ensure implementation of QMS compliance requirements
  • Develop Project Quality Plans (PQP), KPIs, and ensure alignment with contractor PQPs and project objectives
  • Participate in pre-qualification and evaluation of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors; ensure quality standards are incorporated
  • Review and approve contractor/vendor QA/QC documentation and deliverables for engineering, procurement, and construction phases, including welding and testing procedures
  • Review technical queries and deviations regarding welding, non-destructive testing, and other quality-related processes
  • Coordinate with engineering discipline specialists on QA/QC issues related to materials, corrosion, and special processes
  • Ensure deviation and non-conformance control systems are implemented and verify resolution of corrective and preventive actions, NCRs, and CARs
  • Conduct surveillance and oversee quality of project construction works by visiting sites, attending meetings, and monitoring QC inspector performance
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls, or related Engineering discipline; higher qualifications desirable
  • IRCA Certified QMS Lead Auditor or equivalent
  • ASNT Level-II certifications in RT/MT/PT/UT desirable
  • Professional affiliation with recognized quality organizations (CQI, ASQ) desirable
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant QA/QC experience in Oil & Gas or large-scale solar projects; at least 5 years in a lead role
  • Hands-on experience in EPIC projects, covering all phases from design, procurement, construction to commissioning
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, inspection, and certification processes for project equipment/materials
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously from corporate or project offices
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments
