An international engineering and construction organisation delivering large-scale energy, oil and gas, power, and renewable projects. The company works on complex greenfield and brownfield developments, offering exposure to multidisciplinary teams and challenging project environments.

The QA/QC Engineer (Instrumentation) is responsible for managing quality assurance and quality control activities for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. The role includes supervision of inspection teams, implementation of QA/QC processes, and support for construction, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.

• Support contractors in preparing and submitting QA/QC documentation including ITPs, QCPs, test procedures, and material approval requests in line with the construction programme
• Assist in review and approval of quality management, engineering, and procurement documentation
• Ensure QA/QC requirements are implemented on site and at supplier/subcontractor locations in compliance with specifications and technical standards
• Organise and participate in pre-activity review meetings, quality walkthroughs, and weekly QA/QC meetings
• Conduct surveillance and inspections of instrumentation, electrical, telecommunication, and control systems, including F&G equipment, DCS, SCADA, PCS, control panels, cabling, analyzers, and related field equipment
• Identify actual or potential non-conformances and direct contractors on corrective and preventive actions
• Initiate and manage NCRs, including follow-up on root cause analysis and timely close-out
• Monitor material test certificates, construction records, and traceability documentation
• Verify implementation of preservation management systems
• Maintain inspection and test equipment registers and calibration records
• Ensure systems are in place to monitor inspection and test status and perform statistical analysis of results
• Track KPIs, special processes, and personnel performance related to the discipline
• Participate in internal and external audits, including vendor, supplier, and subcontractor audits
• Supervise and coordinate discipline inspectors and QA/QC personnel
• Provide technical guidance and report quality issues to functional supervision
• Work in construction site and outdoor conditions for a significant portion of the role
• Comply with project safety requirements and promote safe working practices

• Bachelor degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution
• Certified QMS Lead Auditor (IRCA or equivalent)
• IECEx, Comp Ex, or equivalent international certification is desirable
• Professional memberships or affiliations with recognised international institutions (ASQ-CMQ&OE, MCQI-CQP, or similar) are advantageous
• Extensive experience in QA/QC electrical, instrumentation, and control works on major oil and gas, power generation, or renewable energy projects
• Experience in loop checking, instrument calibration, field instruments, control valves, telecom, FO systems, and associated equipment
• Familiarity with international standards and codes such as IEC, IEEE, BS, ISO, UL, and industry guidance for instrumentation and controls
• Hands‑on experience with pre‑commissioning and commissioning of instrumentation, F&G systems, DCS, SCADA, metering, HVAC and related electrical/control systems
• Experience managing QA/QC teams and coordinating inspection and testing activities
• Ability to resolve complex QA/QC issues and disputes arising from technical interpretation
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments
