Boeing Global Service is seeking an Apache Power Train Technician to join the AH-64E Qatar Air Force Maintenance Augmentation Team (MAT) located at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar
.
- The aircraft powertrain/rotor repairer supervises, inspects and performs AVUM and AVIM maintenance on aircraft powertrain/rotor systems.
- Removes and replaces powertrain quills, transmissions adapting parts, rotary wing hub and tanks.
- Disassembles friction dampers and hanger assemblies.
- Disassembles, repairs, reassembles, adjusts, balances, and aligns powertrain/rotor components, systems and subsystems to include main and tail rotor hub assemblies according to directives.
- Applies corrosion preventative procedures.
- Cleans, preserves, and stores powertrain/rotor components.
- Uses and performs operator maintenance on ground support equipment, common and special tools.
- Maintains facilities for storage of returnable and hazardous materials.
- Requisition s and maintains shop and bench stock for repair of aircraft powertrain/rotor systems and subsystems.
- Prepares request for turn‑ins and repair parts for powertrain/rotor components.
- Prepares forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.
- Conducts Non‑Destructive Inspection/Testing (i.e., ultrasonic, eddy current, dye penetrant, harmonic bonding, magnetic particle, and X‑Ray) of QAF aircraft, aircraft components, and other equipment IAW the AH‑64E aircraft and NDT Manuals applicable to this discipline, thereby enabling them to become effective Rotor Aircraft Powertrain Technicians IAW with the IETM and applicable aircraft maintenance manuals.
- Provides OJT, coaching, and mentorship to the QAF personnel in the use of all applicable technical publications, tools, test equipment, and special equipment.
- Uses and performs operator maintenance on common and special tools.
- Removes and installs aircraft systems and subsystem assemblies and components including engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. Services and lubricates aircraft systems, subsystems, and components.
- Prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks.
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance actions.
- Uses common measuring tools, precision measuring gauges and alignment fixtures.
- Performs aircraft and related components routine and special inspections.
- Performs maintenance operational checks.
- Diagnoses and solves problems aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required.
- Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to accurate failures or implement changes.
- Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results).
- Works under general direction.
- Travel on short notice.
- Travel both domestically and internationally.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):- 8+ years helicopter Powertrain maintenance experience.
- 4+ years AH-64D/E helicopter Powertrain maintenance experience.
- 5+ years performing Non‑destructive Inspections on aircraft and related components.
- 3+ years of experience with Unit Level Logistics System‑Aviation (ULLS‑A(E)) and with Enhanced Logbook Automation System (ELAS) entries.
- Successfully completed, and be currently qualified by the appropriate U.S. Government armed forces aircraft Powertrain maintenance course or civilian equivalent training. Contractor factory training or other equivalent training by industry shall be reviewed and approved by the PCO or his/her designated representative and/or the GFR as substitute.
