Warehouse Associate

Job Summary:

Must pass an internal operation test for certification to operate a forklift, standup reach truck, electric pallet jack, or any other assigned PIT equipment within Country Pure Foods, as required by OSHA regulations. Responsible for receiving, storing & shipping merchandise safely & accurately, conforming to all policies and regulation within all storage and/or warehouse locations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Tally outgoing loads to provide proper weight distribution & inventory accuracy.
• Accurately "pick" and assemble merchandise for outgoing shipments through WMS. Warehouse, cooler and/or freezer work will be required.
• Accurately put product away in the warehouse using WMS when applicable.
• Monitor production lines as needed - supplying them with raw materials, prior to demand.
• Monitor finished goods coming off production lines ensuring there is no stoppage of fillers, palletizers and conveyers.
• Accurately complete all documentation required/requested from supervision i.e. Master Unit labels & trailer maps.
• Knowledge of Operating packaging equipment, palletizer and the ability to hand palletize.
• Conforms to and promotes Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the facility and participates in the Company Safety Programs.
• Maintain acceptable housekeeping in the freezer, coolers, warehouses, loading docks & complete master cleaning assignments as required.
• Accurately inventory & record information on all finished goods & materials, such as; quantities, codes, item numbers, etc.
• Responsible for accurate daily cycle count & inventory control, and thorough knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management System).
• Having a valid Ohio C.D.L. would be helpful, but not required for this job. If employee has a valid CDL, then must pass a road test administered by Country Pure Foods.
• Team members will be required to perform all functions within the warehouse including, shipping, receiving, line supply, and south warehouse.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and completes work in timely manner.
• Is consistently at work and on time and commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
• Establishes operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
• Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
• Follows instructions and responds to management or lead direction.
• Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events and reacts well under pressure.
• Enforces all food safety and food quality policies and procedures.
• Train and develop warehouse team members. Perform forklift training and certification.
• Perform daily maintenance checks on the forklift, forklift battery, fire extinguisher, and proper lubrication and ensure forklift is operating properly.
• Reports and accountable for problems.
• Possesses the Skills and Knowledge, and is able to meet the Physical Demands and perform in the work environment described in the Work Environment.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be capable of using hand held Warehouse Management System scanning devices.
