Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Diagnose failures and perform repairs on mechanical, electrical, or other systems on vehicles.
- Discuss the nature of issues with drivers as needed.
- Use hydraulic jacks or hoists to access the underside of vehicles and assist in removing or replacing assemblies such as brakes, wheel seals, axle assemblies, roof bows, roof and side wall patches, air springs, etc.
- Utilize electronic diagnostic tools and computer software for troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty ABS systems, self-inflating tire systems, and trailer Sky Bitz locating systems.
- Welding and minor fabrication skills are preferred.

Qualifications EducationPreferredHigh School diploma or equivalent.
ExperienceRequiredAt least 3 years of experience in:- ASE electrical certification
- Air Brake System repair
- Repair of Wabco, Meritor, Bendix anti-lock brake systems
Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
