Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Measure and mark work areas using levels, plumb lines, and straightedges
• Mix mortar or grout to required consistency
• Lay bricks, blocks, or stones in rows, patterns, and designs
• Cut or shape bricks and blocks using hand tools or power saws
• Align structures vertically and horizontally to ensure accuracy
• Apply mortar and finish joints (pointing, raking, tooling)
• Build walls, foundations, partitions, chimneys, and other structures
• Repair, restore, or replace damaged brickwork or blockwork
• Install insulation, damp-proofing, or reinforcing materials when required
• Clean excess mortar and maintain a tidy work area
• Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Work collaboratively with other construction professionals

Requirements:

Skills & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of masonry techniques and materials
• Ability to read technical drawings and construction plans
• Good math skills for measuring and layout
• Attention to detail and precision
• Problem-solving skills

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Comfortable working at heights or on scaffolding
• Ability to lift heavy materials (often 25-50 kg / 55-110 lbs)
