Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Line Cook who has a passion for scratch cooking, experience with vegan, vegetarian, and other diet restrictive dishes, and is comfortable operating in a fast-casual cafe dining setting. Our Line Cook will be expected to prepare, cook, garnish, and plate products served in the Café. They are responsible for maintaining a sanitary kitchen workstation. Good knife skills with well-developed prep, sauté, fry, and grill skills are foundational for success in this role.
OPEN AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED INCLUDING WORKING NIGHTS
Responsibilities- Complies with all portion sizes, quality, ingredient standards, department rules, policies and procedures.
- Follows recipe specifications to prepare menu items in accordance with pre-determined costs.
- Prepares items for cooking by peeling, paring, coring, portioning, washing, sectioning, zesting, cutting, or scoring.
- Cooks all food items by braising, poaching, simmering, boiling, frying, baking, roasting, stir-frying, blanching, or broiling.
- Covers, dates and neatly stores and rotates all products.
- Requisition s items needed to produce food choices, notifies stewards as ordering needs occur.
- Maintains sanitary workstation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Works in a non-smoking, normal store environment where there is not physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, etc.

Education And Experience (E = Essential D = Desired)
- High school education or equivalent is required
- 2+ years of line cook experience is highly desired
- Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program is highly desired
- Serv Safe Certification(s) are a plus
