Overview

The Restaurant Server will take food and beverage orders, serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and food to guest tables according to hotel standards, courteously and efficiently. Responsibilities include collecting payments and maintaining the restaurant area and equipment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Check with customers to ensure satisfaction and address issues.
  • Collect payments from customers.
  • Write or enter food orders into the system for kitchen staff.
  • Prepare checks including meal costs and taxes.
  • Take orders for food and beverages.
  • Verify customers' age for alcohol service.
  • Serve food and beverages, including specialty dishes.
  • Present menus and recommend items.
  • Clean tables after dining.
  • Prepare and serve drinks, chill wine bottles.
  • Set up tables and service areas for shifts or large parties.
  • Inform customers of specials.
  • Stock supplies and explain menu items.
  • Set up and clean tables, assist with reservations and guest greetings.
  • Perform cleaning duties as needed.
  • Present wine selections and pour wines.
  • Assist in food prep like salads and desserts.
  • Greet and escort customers to tables.
  • Garnish dishes and refill condiments.
  • Provide local area information and directions.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Good English skills and guest relations experience.
  • Preferred:
    Certification in liquor, wine, and food service.
  • Must be TIPS, CARE, or equivalent certified by first day.
  • Ability to use POS and other systems.
