As a Principal Scientist in Analytical Science, you’ll play a key role in our Global Metrology team. You’ll lead cutting‑edge testing and analysis of materials that drive tire performance. From raw compounds to fully finished products, your insights will power smarter decisions. Your work will directly influence innovation, quality, and the future of tire technology.
What You'll Do- Develop and optimize advanced analytical testing methods for tire‑related materials.
- Identify opportunities for technological advancement and design experimental plans to support innovation.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance analytical instrumentation to ensure consistent performance.
- Conduct analytical testing on raw materials, compounds, and reformulated materials.
- Provide technical support to research, development, and plant operations through analytical expertise.
- Document, update, and audit analytical procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal customers to deliver data‑driven technical solutions and recommendations.
- Train, mentor, and coach team members in analytical techniques and best practices.
- Master's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer science, materials science, or equivalent with 10+ years of experience OR PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer science, materials science, or equivalent with GRA or similar experience.
- Experience with Analytical Instrumentation in terms of theory, maintenance and application to tire materials.
- Proven experience with chromatography, spectroscopy, and other analytical techniques.
- Proven leadership abilities with hands‑on project management experience.
- Strong critical‑thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to perform effective root‑cause analysis.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to build relationships and work seamlessly across diverse functional teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt quickly to changing needs.
- Excellent communication skills and Advanced English proficiency.
