Position

We are looking for:
Surgery Veterinary Assistant.

Proposed

Schedule:

9 a.m. – 7 p.m. four rotating days per week, plus on‑call rotation for weekends, weekdays and holidays.

Team Environment

Our Surgery team is a fast‑paced environment, perfect for technicians that are looking for training in multiple facets of the department and interaction with the other teams in the hospital. This team requires strong communication skills to liaise between surgeons and clients and deliver post‑operative care instructions.

What you’ll do:
  • Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.
  • Fill medications, enter charges and maintain accurate medical records, schedule appointments.
  • Create patient releases, navigate client conversations around treatment plans and financial obligations.
  • Prep patients for surgery, including shaving, scrubbing and positioning, assist with intubation and radiographs.
  • Proficiently perform blood draws and submit bloodwork.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Open, turn over and clean operating rooms, as well as clean instruments and wrap packs.
Who are you:
  • Prior veterinary experience required, previous surgery experience desired.
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.).
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.

    Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation

This role has a hiring range of $17.00–$28.00/hr based on experience.
