Position Summary This job consists of the assembly of precision electro-mechanical units whose assembly procedure requires the same use of a blend of skills. Also covers the assembly of sub-assemblies for electro-mechanical units, using such skills independently or collectively.

Also covers the assembly of sub-assemblies for electro-mechanical units, using such skills independently or collectively. Operator performs such operations as assembling gear trains, switches, gimbals, bearing assemblies. Uses electronic, hydraulic and related or other equipment necessary to assemble the items involved.
May be required to perform rework operations to correct faulty work, incorporate changes and reconditioning as required on electro-mechanical units.
- Assemble precision electro-mechanical units and sub-assemblies in accordance with procedures.
- Use electronic, hydraulic and related equipment to assemble items involved.
- Perform rework operations to correct faulty work, incorporate changes and reconditioning as required.
- Maintain hand and finger dexterity essential for the work and follow prints, process sheets and other information to meet standards and specifications.
- Possess or develop personal tools required for this type of work.
- Maintain orderliness and neatness of the working area and proper care and use of material and equipment.
- Adhere to work requirements and area habits, including safety and designated conduct (e.g., no smoking, eating in the area designated).
- Work in a light, clean environment with good working conditions.
- Observe safe work practices and maintain a safe and clean work area.
- Potential to become a Certified Operator Inspector (COI) and ensure quality of the work performed.
- Hand and finger dexterity essential for the work.
- Knowledge of electronic assembly techniques and the ability to meet tedious, confined operation requirements.
- Ability to read and follow prints, process sheets and other information.
- Some personal tools required for this type of work.
