Quality Inspector

Location: Akron, OH 44305
Pay: $25.00–$30.00/hr
Shift: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM (Weekend OT as needed)
Duration: 4+ months (leave coverage)

Summary

Support extrusion production by performing inspections, verifying documentation, and ensuring products meet quality and regulatory standards.

Why this matters:
  • Prevents defective product from reaching customers (reduces returns, scrap, and cost).
  • Protects compliance with ISO/customer requirements (avoids audit risk and production shutdowns).
  • Keeps production running efficiently by catching issues early instead of after large batches are produced.
Core Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process and final inspections (dimensional and visual).
  • Verify line clearance before production starts.
  • Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming material.
  • Review production records and generate Certificates of Conformance (CoC).
  • Support calibration and equipment verification.
  • Assist with ISO compliance, audits, and customer quality issues.
  • Escalate process or product quality concerns.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift and occasional weekends.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
  • Prior Quality Inspector experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO, cGMP, or formal quality systems.
  • Flexibility to cover other shifts if needed.
  • Manufacturing or extrusion environment experience.
