General Overview
An Accreditation Manager is a key administrative role responsible for ensuring an agency achieves and maintains compliance with national and state standards, such as those set by ACA, ODRC, NCCHC, and CALEA. This position involves extensive policy management, auditing, training, and coordination with external accrediting bodies. The Accreditation Manager plans, coordinates, and manages all activities related to achieving, maintaining, and monitoring the agency's accreditation status.
The role involves complex administrative and analytical work to ensure all operations, programs, and procedures comply with established standards and best practices.
- Oversee accreditation process to ensure compliance with standards.
- Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary documentation.
- Conduct internal audits to identify areas of improvement.
- Train staff on accreditation standards and process.
- Prepare and submit accreditation and updates accordingly.
- Serve as the main point of contact for accreditation bodies during site visits.
- Analyze accreditation data and provide recommendations.
- Ensure continuous quality improvement in all areas.
- Create, organize, and maintain accreditation files in accordance with program standards.
Any combination of training and work experience that indicates possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities listed below. Accreditation field plus two (2) years of experience in accreditation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Comprehensive knowledge of national and state correctional accreditation standards.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports and conduct training.
- Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office and accreditation management software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and establish effective working relationships with diverse groups of people.
Monday-Friday 7:30-4:00; hours may vary.
