General Service Worker

Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and preventative maintenance on building and other convenience‑store equipment at assigned stores. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Light carpentry, minor electrical repairs, floor repairs, restroom repairs, pothole patching, hanging signage, door repairs, locks, etc.
• Pressure washing, painting, and other related work on all store assets to maintain a high image standard for Circle K.
• Completely special projects as requested by management.
• Participate in field visits and meetings as requested by management.
• Promptly and effectively communicate with both internal and external customers.
• Follow company and department policies and procedures.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management that support the continued success of the assigned area.
• Occasionally travel overnight to support special projects or initiatives.
• Increase professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing Financial and Key Result Area targets pursuant to Company plan guidelines.

• High school diploma or equivalent education. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
• Strong working knowledge of general construction and building maintenance.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload without direct supervision on a daily basis.
• Team player with a professional demeanor.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and convenience store equipment (certification not required) is a plus.
• Knowledge and experience repairing restaurant equipment is preferred.
• Ability to travel long distances for extended periods of time, including overnight stays.
• Ability to operate a smartphone, respond to emails, and share photos.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with associates, vendors, and customers.
• Ability to work under stressful situations.
• Computer literate in MS Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Sit for long periods of time.
• Operate computer keyboard and mouse for data entry.
• View computer monitor.
• Hear and speak via telephone.
• Reach forward and/or overhead.
• Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
• Operate a truck or similar vehicle.
• Climb ladders for access to equipment and facilities.
• Lifting heavy objects or equipment.
• Operate various tools and construction equipment.

• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (normal range).
• Lighting includes natural light from the outside as well as fluorescent lighting throughout work areas.
• Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision.
