Job Title: IT QA Analyst
Location: Akron, OH

Silco Fire & Security isn’t just a company, it’s a mission. Every day, our team plays a vital role in protecting lives and property for over 45,000 businesses across Ohio, Kentucky and surrounding states. We design, install, maintain and monitor fire protection and security systems that keep people safe and businesses compliant.

As the market leader in the Midwest, Silco is a growing, family‑owned company with over 400 employees working from our headquarters in Cincinnati and branches in Dayton, Columbus, Toledo, Akron, Cleveland and Louisville. Recognized as a Top Workplace and named to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest‑growing private companies, we have a long‑standing track record of success and ambitious goals for the future.

Our impact extends beyond fire alarms and sprinklers; we provide peace of mind to the communities we serve. At Silco, you’re not just doing a job, you’re making a difference.

Position Overview

We’re searching for a proactive, curious, and hands‑on IT QA Analyst who loves breaking things before our end users do — and making them better in the process. If you thrive on digging into Salesforce, evaluating real‑world workflows, validating data accuracy, and testing integrations that keep our systems connected and efficient, this role puts you at the heart of Silco’s digital transformation.

You will help shape the user experience for our field technicians, sales teams, support staff, and leaders across the company. Your work ensures every release is smooth, accurate, and ready for the teams that rely on our systems every day.

Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Testing:

  • Execute hands‑on functional testing of Salesforce features, flows, validation rules, automation, and customizations.
  • Develop and maintain test cases and regression scripts that accurately reflect end‑user scenarios.
  • Perform UAT support and coordination, helping business users validate new features and releases.
  • Test integrations between Salesforce and external systems using Postman, including REST API calls and payload validation.
  • Validate data integrity across Salesforce objects such as Work Orders, Service Appointments, Accounts, Assets, and related records.
  • Conduct QA on data‑related activities including reports, dashboards, imports, and data transformations.
  • Document defects clearly and work with IT Product Owners and developers to support resolution and retesting.

Building a Functional & Scalable QA Process:

  • Help define and improve a repeatable QA process that scales as the company grows and IT systems expand.
  • Contribute to the creation of test templates, standardized test cases, regression suites, and documentation.
  • Establish consistent processes for test data management, defect tracking, prioritization, and reporting.
  • Recommend enhancements to QA workflow, tooling, and structure to increase efficiency and reduce defects.
  • Support efforts to introduce automation by identifying high‑value regression areas and documenting automation‑ready test cases.

Cross‑Functional

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with business teams to understand real‑world workflows and translate them into test scenarios.
  • Collaborate with IT teammates to review requirements and acceptance criteria for clarity and completeness.
  • Participate in release cycles, from sandbox validation to production go‑live testing.
  • Provide feedback that helps drive user adoption and system usability.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years QA experience.
  • Prior hands‑on Salesforce QA experience.
  • Ability to test functionality from an end‑user perspective.
  • Experience using Postman.
  • Strong analytical and data validation skills.
  • Experience with Jira.
  • Experience supporting UAT or Agile teams.
Preferred
  • Data and Mobile app QA experience.
  • Salesforce Administrator certification.
  • Experience with test automation tools.

In addition to a competitive compensation package, Silco offers a wide range of benefits such as medical, dental, vision, Aflac and a Flexible Spending Account (FSA). Silco offers company paid short‑term disability and life insurance, as well as company paid training. The Company also boasts a 401(k) program with company matching and tuition reimbursement.
