About the Opportunity

The Talent Acquisition Recruiter provides full‑cycle recruiting and consulting to First Energy’s hiring managers across the designated business unit(s). The position reports to the Supervisor, Transmission Talent Acquisition.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in building out the Transmission organization.
  • Hold strategic consultation meetings with hiring managers and develop job postings based on responsibilities and qualification requirements.
  • Guide hiring managers through the recruiting process from posting through candidate acceptance.
  • Ensure diversity is represented at all stages of hiring in compliance with First Energy’s hiring policy.
  • Post positions on internal and external career websites and relevant third‑party job boards.
  • Create and execute candidate sourcing strategies, including sourcing passive candidates and leveraging skills for diverse candidates.
  • Partner with niche and community groups, Employee Business Resource Groups (EBRGs), Community Involvement and External Affairs to increase diversity of candidate slates.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to develop working knowledge of open positions across First Energy.
  • Review resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience, education, and knowledge.
  • Develop job‑specific pre‑screening questions with hiring managers. Use Success Factors SMO ATS to manage the recruiting process.
  • Conduct phone screens, interviews, and employee benefit overviews.
  • Provide guidance to hiring managers to ensure compliance with State and Federal employment laws and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts to source qualified candidates, especially in diversity arenas.
  • Create and foster relationships with diverse industry professionals and organizations to attract candidates.
  • Serve as First Energy’s main point of contact for various professional, community and diversity‑focused organizations.
  • Support the College Recruiting team and participate in career fairs and other recruiting events as needed.
  • Act as an HR Lead for ambassador teams as part of First Energy’s Ambassador Network recruiting program.
  • Act as the main point of contact for external employment candidates through screening to disposition.
  • Provide complete and accurate information to motivate candidates and promote First Energy values.
  • Develop salary recommendations in collaboration with Compensation, analyzing internal equity.
  • Extend job offers and negotiate salary and benefit terms.
  • Proactively identify and recommend opportunities for continuous recruiting process improvements, especially for diversity sourcing and creative strategies.
  • Maintain confidentiality on projects and employee information.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline and minimum of 3 years relevant work experience.
  • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, minimum of 4 years relevant work experience required.
  • Full‑cycle recruiting experience for exempt, professional‑level positions preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability for sourcing diverse candidate slates preferred.
  • Experience using creative sourcing strategies and resume mining.
  • Strong organizational and follow‑up skills with attention to detail.
  • Outstanding negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Sound interviewing, organizational, public relations, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems;
    Experience with Success Factors and/or Oracle ATS preferred.
