Direct Support Professional; DSP

The Blick Center has been helping individuals for 50 years. Serving early childhood, school‑age, and adult individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities, and physical, and mental health diagnoses.

We currently have openings for Direct Service Professionals (DSP). A DSP is a professional who empowers & supports an individual with a disability by providing skill development, and social skills, & assisting with daily living activities (bathing, self‑care, etc.). All homes are located in the Akron area.

Starting pay is $17 / hour plus a $1 / hour shift premium for working weekends starting Friday afternoon to Monday morning.

• Weekdays 2 pm‑10 pm (varies by home).
• Weekday mornings 6 am‑9 am (varies by home).
• Weekend hours (all shifts).

We offer paid training, including First Aid & CPR. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with less than 6 points.
• Able to push & pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
• 18 years of age & older.

Blick Center is certified as a Mental Health Agency with Ohio Mental Health & Addiction Services and as a Supported Living and Medicaid Waiver Provider with the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
