Radiologic Technologist - Surgery (Healthcare) – Part‑Time

Position Summary:

The Surgery Radiologic Technologist produces high‑quality diagnostic imaging during sterile surgical procedures in the surgical suite. Must be able to provide equipment set up for all specific protocols, communicate appropriately in a highly stressful environment, maintain a sterile environment during surgical procedures, and maintain patient safety at all times. Demonstrates the care and operation of fluoroscopic equipment according to technical specification and applications.

• Produces high‑quality fluoroscopic images with minimal patient exposure, following ALARA standards.
• Ensures that safety devices such as shielding and fluoroscopic dose are utilized properly during procedures.
• Maintains proper operation of radiology equipment and follows proper cleaning protocols; proficient with all radiology surgical equipment and appropriate set‑up.
• Verifies proper surgical procedure prior to equipment set‑up and operation; processes radiology imaging requests and all related documents in RIS and PACS systems; understands sterile technique concepts.
• Answers patients’ general questions and telephone calls; provides back‑up coverage and assists in daily/nightly office routine when needed in other areas.
• Recognizes emergent situations and acts promptly and appropriately based on needs; assesses equipment errors, contacts appropriate vendor for service, and maintains proper equipment logs.
• All other duties not specifically assigned.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
• Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of demonstrated experience in the field or profession required; prior radiologic surgical fluoroscopic experience preferred.

  Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and sterile techniques.
• Certifications / Licenses / Registrations: Registered technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; licensed in the State of Ohio; BLS required.
