Job Overview

Akron Children's Hospital is dedicated to building a diverse workforce that reflects the patient population it serves. The Division of Pediatric Psychology at ACH is recruiting a pediatric/child clinical psychologist to join our growing Autism Center team. The Autism Center is a joint initiative between the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and the Neuro Developmental Science Center, emphasizing interprofessional collaboration in advancing clinical care for children with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations with the Autism Diagnostic Clinic (ADC) service, working with patients ranging from toddlers to older adolescents.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including clinical psychologists, psychometrist, speech‑language pathologists, developmental pediatricians, mental‑health therapists, ABA therapists, and ABA behavior technicians to provide individual and group intervention services.
  • Engage in quality‑improvement initiatives and clinical research, with protected time and institutional support for research coordination, statistical assistance, and travel to conferences.
  • Participate in training, supervision, and educational programs, including externship, internship, and fellowship opportunities, and collaborate with pediatric residents, fellows, and medical students.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree (Ph.D. or Psy.

    D.) in clinical, counseling, or educational psychology from an APA‑accredited program.
  • Completion of an APA‑accredited internship (child or pediatric emphasis preferred).
  • License eligibility in the State of Ohio.
  • Strong interest in the practice of evidence‑based pediatric psychology.

This position is a 501(c)(3) site, qualifying for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through the Federal government.
