Description
The Senior Project Controls Specialist leads project controls processes and consults with the project management team to ensure client satisfaction.
- Presents schedule and budget status reports to project management team and client.
- Validates proper set‑up and management of the Enterprise Planning & Controls software.
- Analyzes data, logs, and reports in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software or other tools.
- Validates proper Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is utilized.
- Develops effective scheduling reports, cost reports, cash‑flow reports and forecasts for multiple projects.
- Develops, implements, and manages the reporting data warehouse to produce valuable program controls reports and data for multiple large projects.
- Provides leadership and training to team members, ensuring the resolution of difficult project‑control issues.
- Develops and implements project execution plans.
- Builds and maintains effective relationships with existing and potential clients, customers, and contractors.
- Responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics and cost control.
- Serves as a point of contact for technical questions from the project team.
- Validates the accuracy of cost management and forecast reporting.
- Interfaces with the Project Management Team and Accounting Department to review project costs and contingency costs and support external audits.
- Has experience negotiating prime agreements, construction contracts/subcontracts agreements.
- Reviews upstream (prime contract) / downstream (purchase orders & subcontract) change orders.
- Analyzes cash‑flow reports.
- Leads the Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM).
- Leads the presentation of Project Controls reporting.
- Validates schedule progress.
- Analyzes and evaluates schedule management involving the critical path method of scheduling techniques, estimating, project cost management, forecasting and document control.
- Performs schedule what‑if scenarios.
- Validates the accuracy of earned‑value management system reporting.
- Analyzes progress measurement.
- Analyzes progress curves.
- Performs and reviews material take-offs.
- Identifies and oversees the Risk Management process.
- Performs quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables.
- Performs field audits to validate accuracy of reporting and processes.
- Performs Project Forensic Analysis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, and 7 years direct project controls experience required.
- Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- Experience with critical path scheduling, project cost management, estimating and document control required.
- Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
- Ability to facilitate and produce detailed construction schedules and interface those construction schedules with engineering and procurement activities preferred.
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- OSHA 10‑hour safety certification, ability to obtain.
