Role Overview
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting project teams by providing design drafting, data collection, and layout development using advanced CAD and BIM tools. You will be expected to travel occasionally to client sites for meetings and data collection. This position offers the flexibility of part-time or full-time schedules for entry-level candidates, with a path towards full-time employment.
Responsibilities
- Assist engineering teams by creating detailed designs using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, and other industry-standard tools.
- Develop civil and structural design layouts, including foundations, framing, and site-related features.
- Prepare drawings that adhere to applicable codes and standards, ensuring multidisciplinary coordination.
- Collect and interpret field data, including measurements and existing conditions.
- Collaborate with various disciplines to ensure cohesive project outcomes.
- Employ modern technologies such as GPS surveying and laser scanning.
- Visit client facilities safely and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- 2-5 years of drafting experience in civil/structural design; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Associate's degree in Computer-Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Civil 3D, Revit, or Navisworks is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify design discrepancies.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks and drug testing.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work on-site and commute to the Akron office regularly.
