** you will utilize the right processes & tools to efficiently and effectively develop and maintain our compound line-up portfolio Passenger Radial and Light Truck Radial tire lines.
** You'll Do
*** Translating product performance requirements into chemical and physical property requirements of materials, and then developing tire compounds which demonstrate high performance.
* Execute Compound Development projects with cross-functional teams to deliver new technologies and capabilities supporting future Global Product and Technology development needs.
* Ensure support for Product Development teams where required to deliver to the global / regional businesses (i.e. material benchmarking, recommendations for compound choices, root cause analysis on compound related items).
* Develop new compound formulations and/or tune existing formulations and support Quality with industrialization along with Goodyear Product Development roadmap for optimal performance (tire performance/ manufacturing performance) while considering cost and environment.
* Follow Global Technology GIR process. Leverage virtual development tools (modeling and (semi) empiric), design and execute/ interpret lab studies. Assist plant trials as required, prepare technical content, and execute technical reviews.
* Provide compound/ component recommendations during all product development phases. Utilize material science expertise to answer questions from design and business team
* Provide assistance for trouble shooting/ root cause analysis in materials area in liaison with other functions.
** You'll Bring
*** A Bachelors or master’s in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Biology or related fields is required.
* Experience on structure/property relationships in viscoelastic materials is necessary.
* Experience in rubber compound analytical data interpretation (physical properties, chemical composition, forensics reports.
* Have knowledge of mixing and impact to extrusion, component prep, and downstream process.
* Proficiency in the statistical design and analysis of data.
* Knowledge of polymers, fillers, and/or reinforced composites.
