Civil Engineer Co‑op in Water Modeling for 2026 and 2027

Co‑op Overview

2026/2027 Water Modeling Co‑op:
Civil Engineering:
This is not a “get coffee and file paperwork” type of co‑op experience. You will be a billable member of the team doing design work for our clients and learning how to use different design technology and software systems while mentoring under a professional engineer. We work directly with the communities we serve for water distribution, wastewater collection, stormwater, Water/wastewater treatment systems, green infrastructure, environmental regulatory programs, and FEMA public assistance and disaster response.

Locations:
Louisville, KY;
Akron, OH; and Cleveland, OH offices.

Key Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Interest in working with communities on stream restoration, environmental regulatory program implementation and stormwater permitting.
  • Interest in Hydrology and Hydraulic analysis, wastewater collection and treatment, green infrastructure, and water distribution.
  • Interest in civil engineering design and SWMM, HEC‑RAS, and HEC‑HMS (both 1D and 2D).
  • Interest in GIS software packages. Must be a team player and be self‑motivated.
  • Ability to work on project teams and work individually.
