Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Project Manager to support both our commercial and defense programs. This is a multi-role position combining traditional project management responsibilities with contract review & compliance and some sales administration functions.
Approximately 80% of the role will focus on managing customer projects — developing schedules, coordinating vendors, and leading customer communications. The remaining 20% will support sales and administrative functions, including contract review & compliance with ISO/AS9100 and ITAR/DFARS requirements and RFQ and Order management.
This position will work closely with — and train alongside — the company’s Vice President, providing an opportunity to learn our systems and processes directly from senior leadership. The role is highly collaborative, interacting daily with team members across IT/Compliance, Sales, Engineering, and the Shop Floor to ensure project and customer success.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management (80%)
- Lead assigned customer projects from quotation through completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget performance.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, Gantt charts, and milestone reports.
- Facilitate weekly customer updates and internal coordination meetings.
- Manage vendor and supplier deliverables to align with project timelines.
- Proactively identify risks and communicate mitigation plans to leadership and customers.
- Review and manage customer contracts, purchase orders, and terms & conditions for accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure ITAR, DFARS, and export-controlled compliance in coordination with leadership.
- Maintain and update the estimating log, bookings, and order tracking.
- Oversee the sales-related portions of the company’s ISO/AS9100 management system.
- Support inside sales activities such as RFQ follow-ups and quote preparation as needed.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proven project management or sales operations experience supporting technical or engineered products.
- Working knowledge of ITAR, DFARS, or other defense manufacturing compliance strongly preferred.
- Experience in reviewing terms and conditions and contracts for compliance strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills; comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required with relevant experience.
