Arcadis is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer to join our Florida Roadway Team. In this role, you will contribute to the planning and design of roadway infrastructure projects including intersections, collector streets, arterials, expressways, interstates, and interchanges. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions for LADOTD, other State DOTs, and municipalities.
Responsibilities- Assist in defining project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables for roadway design projects.
- Perform roadway design for intersections, arterials, expressways, interstates, and interchanges using LADOTD standards and CAD tools (Micro Station, Open Roads).
- Develop detailed construction drawings, specifications, and design reports.
- Conduct geometric design including alignments, cross sections, and pavement design.
- Ensure compliance with Arcadis practices, LADOTD policies, and industry standards through quality control and technical reviews.
- Support project managers with client coordination, progress monitoring, and project documentation.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design solutions and manage expectations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (transportation, drainage, structures, utilities) to integrate design components.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and interns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
- 2–3 years of roadway design experience, including LADOTD projects.
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification with intent to pursue PE licensure.
- Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Micro Station and Open Roads.
- Familiarity with LADOTD design standards and policies.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Self‑motivated, team‑oriented, and adaptable to new challenges.
- Experience in client‑facing roles, including presentations and managing expectations.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $77,048 - $92,457.
Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
