A highly respected engineering and design organization in downtown Akron is seeking a motivated Civil/Structural Designer to join their growing team. • Support engineering teams through drafting and design using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, and other industry tools
• Assist in developing civil and structural design layouts, including foundations, framing, and site‑related features
• Prepare drawings that comply with applicable codes, constructability standards, and multidisciplinary coordination
• Collect and interpret field data, including measurements, elevations, or existing conditions
• Maintain accuracy and quality in all design deliverables
• Collaborate with other disciplines to support cohesive, well‑coordinated project outcomes
• Learn and apply modern technologies such as GPS surveying, laser scanning, and BIM methodologies
• Navigate client facilities safely during field visits
• Manage multiple tasks and deadlines within a fast‑paced project environment

What You’ll Bring

• 25 years of drafting experience in civil/structural design (newer graduates are welcome to apply)
• Vocational or associate’s degree in Computer‑Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD; familiarity with Civil 3D, Revit, or Navisworks is a plus
• Ability to learn new tools, technologies, and field equipment practices
• Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize design discrepancies
• Capability to work on‑site and commute consistently to the Akron office
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background screening and drug testing
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Ability to work safely in field environments and maneuver through industrial facilities
