Civil Engineering Co-Op Akron, OH

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Co-op Student to join our team for a hands-on learning experience. As part of our team, you will work closely with experienced engineers and other professionals on a variety of infrastructure, environmental, and construction projects. This position is ideal for students pursuing a degree in civil engineering or a related field and looking to gain practical, real-world experience in the industry.

• Assist in the design, analysis, and preparation of civil engineering projects, including water resources, environmental, and land development projects.
• Support senior engineers in the preparation of drawings, calculations, and reports for various projects using industry-standard software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, etc.).
• Conduct site visits to observe construction activities and ensure compliance with engineering plans and specifications.
• Perform field data collection, surveying, and soil/water testing to assist in the development of project designs.
• Participate in team meetings and collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure project objectives are met.
• Assist in the review of project documents, including construction plans, technical reports, and engineering specifications.
• Help prepare cost estimates, project schedules, and bid documents as needed.
• Learn and adhere to company safety procedures and industry regulations.

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• A minimum of two years of completed coursework in civil engineering or relevant subjects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit or other engineering design software is preferred.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Previous internship or co-op experience in civil engineering is a plus but not required.
