Summary:

Responsible for the accurate and timely processing and distribution of payroll. Process biweekly payroll in a multi-state environment, with the occasional off-cycle, in compliance with all Federal, State and Local Regulatory Agencies as defined by law. Test new pay codes and deduction codes in compliance with all Federal, State and Local tax compliance; updating and maintaining payroll process documentation; testing of Regulatory Bulletins for BSI tax software.

Provides customer service to Summa Health's internal and external customers via telephone or email.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Formal

Education Required:

a. Associates degree in Accounting, Finance or business related field, or equivalent experience.

b. American Payroll Association Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CCP) preferred.

2. Experience and Training

Required:

a. Minimum of two (2) years of payroll processing experience, and/or Payroll FPC or CPP Certification.

b. Knowledge of FLSA and DOL

c. Knowledge of Federal, State and Local tax compliance. Multi-state and PFMLA tax knowledge a plus

d. Previous experience with automated payroll/HRIS systems. Lawson HRIS preferred.

e. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the internet.

i. Must possess good mathematical skills and ability to perform arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.
