About the Opportunity
Enbridge is seeking a dynamic and strategic Lead Business Development professional to drive growth within the Gas Distribution & Storage (GDS) Industrial segment in Ohio. This role is ideal for a results-oriented sales leader who excels in building high-value partnerships, navigating complex customer environments, and delivering measurable business impact.
Internally titled Manager, Key Accounts, this position plays a critical role in strengthening customer relationships, expanding market presence, and supporting long-term revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Market Growth
- Develop and execute long-term account strategies for high-value industrial customers to enhance revenue growth and customer retention.
- Identify emerging market trends and customer needs to proactively position innovative solutions.
- Represent the organization at industry events, regulatory discussions, and customer forums to strengthen market leadership.
- Lead the complete sales lifecycle, including prospecting, solution development, contract negotiation, closing, and long-term account management.
- Partner with customers as a strategic advisor to support their operational and business objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, engineering, regulatory, marketing, and customer service teams to deliver integrated, customer-centric solutions.
- Influence internal stakeholders to align resources and optimize customer outcomes.
Team Development & Performance Management
- Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
- Establish clear performance metrics and provide ongoing feedback to drive professional growth.
- Monitor sales targets, customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and operational effectiveness using data-driven insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of business development experience, preferably within utilities or the energy industry.
- Proven experience leading people and/or large strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales and market development targets.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders without direct authority.
- Knowledge of regulators, intervenors, competitors, and broader utilities ecosystem.
- Strategic thinker with a customer-first mindset and the ability to develop comprehensive growth plans.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based in Akron, OH.
- Approximately 20% travel within Ohio.
- Valid driver’s license with a responsible driving record required.
